Panchang for Sydney, Friday, 25 September 2026
Sydney sits at 33.87° S, 151.21° E and keeps Australia/Sydney time, UTC+10:00 on this date, so every time below is local to Sydney. Across 2026 sunrise there comes as early as 5:31 AM around 2 October and as late as 7:08 AM around 3 April. Daylight runs from 9 h 54 min near 22 June to 14 h 25 min near 21 December, with the long days falling in the southern summer, so Rahu Kaal is longest around December.

How these times are worked out
Sunrise and sunset are the moments the top edge of the Sun crosses the horizon at Sydney, with the usual allowance for atmospheric refraction. The tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are read at that sunrise in the sidereal zodiac, and each end time is the minute the Moon crosses into the next one. Rahu Kaal and Yamaganda are fixed eighths of the daylight chosen by the weekday, as is Gulika Kaal, so they follow the length of the day in Sydney rather than the clock.
Choghadiya divides the day and the night into eight parts each. Amrit is the most favoured slot, with Shubh and Labh also read as good times to begin. Char is neutral. Udveg and Rog are read as times to avoid starting something new, and Kaal is read the same way. Printed almanacs that define sunrise by the centre of the Sun, or round differently, can differ from these times by a minute or two.
