Empty houses do not mean an empty life
You have ten bodies and twelve houses. The arithmetic guarantees gaps.
The most common piece of chart anxiety is an empty seventh house, read as a prediction of never marrying. It predicts nothing of the kind, and the arithmetic explains why.
The arithmetic
Ten bodies distributed across twelve houses, and they cluster rather than spread evenly. Most charts have four or five empty houses. If empty meant absent, most people would be missing a third of their lives.
How to actually read one
Find the sign on the cusp, find its ruling planet, and read that planet. That is the house's business, carried elsewhere. An empty seventh with Libra on the cusp means you read Venus: wherever Venus sits, in whatever condition, is where your partnership story is being told.
What an empty house does mean
That the department is not a site of constant internal activity. Someone with a packed seventh house thinks about relationship structurally, all the time. Someone with an empty one may simply get on with it. Less noise is not less life.
Where it does matter
Transits. An empty house still gets visited, and when a slow planet moves through it the effect can be more noticeable precisely because nothing usually happens there.
